In a surprising partnership that defies traditional forecasts, the game developer has revealed an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Uncovered
According to the official statement, "An unusual encounter leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where rumors of prohibited rituals and terrifying transformations resonate through the shadows." The storyline presents a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who charges the duo with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a secret sect.
The adventure focuses on "peculiar tests and a monstrous enemy" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Transformations
The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser concludes with a striking scene showing a character, probably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Extra Material
Players who finish the mission will receive an exclusive katana alongside several items secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Addition
This patch also introduces the game's latest free story content, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature abilities: Naoe introduces a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.
